James City County Schools Initiative
EyeGive is dedicated to ensuring that no student falls behind simply because they don’t have access to glasses. During the event, we highlighted the growing need for immediate replacement eyewear for students who lose or break their glasses—a challenge that schools in our community have confirmed is affecting learning every day. We also introduced EyeGive’s solution: a simple, school-based referral program that connects students with replacement glasses at no cost to their families or schools, funded through donors and community partners. The event was an incredible opportunity to raise awareness, build community support, and take another step toward making clear vision accessible for every student.
Eyegive Goes Global
Through our partnership with William & Mary Global Medical Brigades, EyeGive was able to extend its impact beyond our local community. The glasses generously donated through our collection drives were brought to Panama, where they were distributed to individuals who otherwise would not have access to vision care or the financial resources to purchase prescription eyewear. For many recipients, receiving a pair of glasses meant more than improved vision—it meant greater independence, new opportunities, and a better quality of life. This partnership reflects EyeGive’s mission to make clear vision accessible wherever the need exists, both at home and around the world.
Fundraising at William & Mary Football
EyeGive had the opportunity to engage with the William & Mary community during a home football game, where we hosted a fundraiser focused on collecting both donated eyeglasses and monetary contributions. The event allowed us to connect with students, alumni, families, and local supporters while raising awareness about the challenges many students face when they lose or break their glasses. Thanks to the generosity of the William & Mary community, we collected numerous pairs of donated glasses and raised funds that will help provide replacement eyewear to students in need. Every donation brought us one step closer to ensuring that no student falls behind simply because they can’t see clearly.
Partnering with Saint Bede Catholic Church
EyeGive was honored to partner with Saint Bede Catholic Church for a community donation drive focused on collecting both used eyeglasses and monetary contributions. The generosity of the parish community made it possible to gather glasses that can be redistributed to individuals in need while also raising funds to support replacement eyewear for students who cannot afford it. Beyond the donations, the drive served as an opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of accessible vision care and the impact that a simple pair of glasses can have on a person’s education and daily life. We are incredibly grateful to the Saint Bede community for their compassion and commitment to helping us bring clearer vision and brighter futures to those who need it most.
